The KONFORT 780R BI-GAS is the top of the range in the 700 Series, and the best recharge station on the market today.
Though it shares the same external dimensions as TEXA’s other vehicle air conditioning diagnosis and recharge stations, it actually contains two separate refrigerant tanks and two distinct recovering, recycling and recharging circuits. The 780R BI-GAS can therefore work with R134a and R1234yf refrigerants at the same time.
The station is fully automatic and, once the type of refrigerant has been selected, can completes recharging operations with no further input from the operator.
The entire recharge procedure is completely automatic thanks to hermetically sealed oil tanks, a scale locking and release system and automatic refrigerant weighing.
The 780R diagnosis and recharge station even implements a special procedure to clean all its internal circuits during refrigerant recharging. The machine carries out the flushing procedure automatically in order to clean out the system when changing from one refrigerant to the other. This procedure takes approx. one minute.
The 780R BI-GAS represents a future-proof investment for all garages seeking a single recharge station for use with the old and the new refrigerant.
TEXA’s refrigerant identification system is based on NDIR (Non-Dispersive Infrared) technology and has been developed on the basis of a decade of experience in the production of exhaust gas analysis systems that are recognised as the best the market can offer in terms of accuracy and build quality. TEXA is the only European company and the second worldwide to develop and produce a refrigerant identification kit especially for air conditioning recharge stations.
TEXA has utilised the most accurate and compact technology, in order to develop the identifier and certain features have International patents (in addition to the 8 for the service stations). Development of the system took over a year. Particular attention was paid to the algorithms that identify refrigerant types R134a and R1234yf. The TEXA system not only identifies these two refrigerants but ensures their purity too.
The entire procedure takes around a minute, and the unit will alert the operator if the refrigerant is incorrect or contaminated, and will therefore lock the KONFORT service station preventing the recovery of contaminated refrigerant.
Because standard bottles are not hermetically sealed, they always contain a percentage of air. The water molecules in the air bind with the oil and contaminate it. TEXA’s solution was to create special containers which prevent the oil from becoming contaminated by air and humidity. These have been patented. These special bottles can be re-used thanks to a special system which removes the air from the bottle.
In order to guarantee safety and efficiency, it is important that each type of oil and refrigerant are not cross contaminated. TEXA have therefore developed a special automatic flushing function to clean the internal circuits of the service station.
With the introduction of new vehicles, new oils have been introduced for these applications. The correct oil type must be used relating to the air conditioning system to be serviced (e.g. PAG or POE). It is potentially damaging and dangerous to inject non-compatible oils into the system, so the operator must be sure to avoid mistakes. TEXA has developed an automatic oil bottle recognition system which, by comparing the data contained in the vehicles database, signals if the incorrect bottle is being used.
The recharge station incorporates a thermal printer to provide detailed reports on all the operations performed.
The scales used for refrigerant measurement can be inaccurate when used on uneven surfaces.
Scales for weighing the refrigerant can be subject to a measurement error of approx. 20%. One of the most common causes of this inaccuracy can be the condition of the workshop floor where the station is used. Even slight variances can result in weighing errors which can mean that either too much or too little refrigerant is added to the vehicle’s system. TILT SENSOR SYSTEM analyses the scale’s horizontal positioning and alerts the operator that the readings may be inaccurate.
The new R1234yf refrigerant has been classified as being ‘highly flammable’ and this must be acknowledged by the operator. The KONFORT 700 series adopts a high efficiency redundant fan system to eliminate any possible refrigerant build up within the unit.
The KONFORT 700 series units automatically carry out a dual leak detection check. All safety related operations take place automatically in order to eliminate errors.
TEXA’s operating software conforms to the strictest requirements of accuracy and precision.
The colour TFT matrix controls the progress of automated operations using images, graphics and technical diagrams. Any possible faults or messages are displayed via detailed error messages.
TEXA software manages the recovery and recharge processes, in order to guarantee precision that was previously unknown. In particular, the automatic procedures assist the operator with repairs on highly sophisticated systems.
